A position is available in the research area of ultrafast x-ray molecular movies led by Adi Natan in the Stanford PULSE Institute. 

We develop experimental and computational methods to image dynamics at the atomic scale in molecules of increased complexity and in complex environments. 

We aim to overcome the limits of current approaches that rely on modeling and simulation.  

The position will focus on the development of advanced imaging techniques such as energy resolved scattering, super-resolution space-time analysis of ultrafast scattering, and high-repetition rate high-energy x-ray methods, to study electronic and nuclear motions in molecular model systems in gas and solution.

Desired skills: 

Expertise in one or more of these areas: ultrafast molecular physics\chemistry, computational optics, signal processing, computer vision. 

Strong background in algorithm development is recommended, and knowledge of synchrotron and XFEL based x-ray scattering. 

We are looking for people with the ability to work both independently and in an interdisciplinary team, being self-starters and highly motivated to succeed in a cutting edge scientific front.

Education: 

Ph.D or visiting scholar in physics, physical chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering, or related field is required.
