The Department of Pathology at the University of Washington is seeking a fulltime scientist or physician-scientist engaged in an area of cardiovascular research, for appointment as Associate Professor or Full Professor with or without Tenure. This appointment is supported by an endowed professorship. The successful candidate will have an established record of innovative science, mentoring and extramural funding. The candidate is to serve as the Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Biology, located at the UW Medicine South Lake Union research campus. The Center comprises ~30,000 assignable square feet of research space and is the hub for a vibrant cardiovascular community, including investigators from the Departments of Pathology, Medicine/Cardiology, Bioengineering, Radiology, Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, Mechanical Engineering and Surgery. Candidates must have a MD or PhD degree or both or foreign equivalent. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
