One postdoctoral research fellow position is immediately available for the Neuroimmune Interaction Laboratory in the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. The lab mainly focuses on the role of microglia and monocytes in clinically relevant pathologies such as epilepsy, pain, stroke and autoimmune diseases. The lab uses multidisciplinary approaches including in vivo two-photon imaging, electrophysiology, immunostaining, biochemistry, behavioral studies in a vast variety of transgenic and knockout mice. The long-term goal of the lab is to identify and manipulate microglial and monocyte specific targets that complement existing strategies for the treatment of brain diseases. Candidates with expertise in neuroimmunology, glial biology, in vivo two- photon imaging, or prior experience in studying neuron-glia communication and function are encouraged to apply.
