We are searching for a trained and highly motivated scientist holding a PhD or MD degree and having experience in biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology or similar disciplines.
The research project will apply molecular/cell biological techniques and mouse genetics to study new aspects of mechano-chemical signalling in healthy and failing heart muscle cells, with a strong translational aspect from basic research to disease-relevant questions. Knowledge and practical skills in molecular biology and mouse genotyping is required. Previous experience in cardiac or skeletal muscle research would be an advantage.
The position is funded by the German Research Foundation and available immediately, for 3 years. The successful applicant will join a dynamic team of both experienced and junior researchers with many national and international collaborations and a history of high-quality research output (for recent papers, see Li et al., Elife 9:e64107, 2020; Loescher et al., Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 117:24545-24556, 2020; Swist et al., Nat Commun 11:4479, 2020; Rivas-Pardo et al., Nat Commun 11:2060, 2020; Krysiak et al., Nat Commun 9:262, 2018).
