Senior Research Fellow, Building Information Modelling
£42,149, rising annually to £46,042 Full Time, Fixed Term – Researcher
The Senior Research Fellow Building Information Modelling will be expected to build a centre for Architectural BIM research at Oxford Brookes, developing a comprehensive research agenda, obtaining funding for the research, and building a research team. As currently envisioned, this research study will evaluate the disconnects, failures, and successes of the use of BIM in architecture firms.
This is a full time, fixed-term appointment for 36 months.
Senior Research Fellow Building Information Modelling you will be responsible for:
Carrying out research related to BIM development • Leading a research subgroup in the Design Theory Practice Research Group on BIM, positioning Brookes as a centre for Architectural BIM research in the UK
Publishing REF returnable articles in internationally recognised academic/professional journals and write/contribute to books and monographs
Assisting staff in the School with the development of grant proposals, networking and dissemination activities, and outputs for publication
Attending conferences/workshops and present papers
Assisting other staff in the School working on the same strategic research theme.
You should have:
Demonstrable experience of working in Architectural BIM development, application, project management, or other professional roles
Sufficient knowledge of Building Information Modelling in Architecture to develop an effective research programme that is coherent, well-organised and deliverable
Knowledge of Machine Learning, Scripting, and Automation as it applies to BIM in professional practice.
Connections to firms active in the use of BIM
Ability to build professional networks to assist in BIM application research
Ability to plan and manage projects.
