美国华盛顿大学医学院博士后职位–病毒学、细胞生物学、结构生物学和疫苗学
Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Microbiology
Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM), WUSTL
Postdoctoral Position Available
Postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Sean Whelan’s laboratory for highly motivated candidates who are interested in emerging infections, virus entry, and mechanisms of viral replication. Salary is in keeping with NIH Guidelines ($53,760 to $65,292), depending on prior research experience and qualifications and is supplemented by a generous benefits package. Dr. Whelan is the Marvin A. Brennecke Distinguished Professor and Head of the Department of Molecular Microbiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Whelan’s laboratory studies emerging viral pathogens at the molecular level, with goals to define the mechanisms by which such pathogens enter into host cells, and to determine how their replication machinery functions and harness that knowledge to advance countermeasures to combat infection. The laboratory capitalizes on the gained knowledge of their research to further advance vesicular stomatitis virus as a platform for the development of vaccines against emerging viral pathogens. Details of Dr. Whelan’s laboratory, on-going research projects, and recent publications can be found at https://www.whelan-lab.org/.
Research projects in the laboratory involving virology, cell biology, structural biology, and vaccinology are particularly active areas of focus.
Successful candidates will have a recent Ph.D. in biophysics, structural biology, virology, microbiology, immunology, or other related fields. Interested applicants should send the following materials in an application packet, preferably as a single PDF file, by email to Dr. Sean Whelan via Michelle Gibbs (gibbsm@wustl.edu):
1) Cover letter indicating current and future research interests and anticipated start date.
2) Curriculum vitae
3) Summary of previous research experience (2 pages)
4) Names and contact information for 3 references.
