Description of the workplace The Epidemiology research group at the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine conducts research on how our health is affected by factors in the external environment. Our research combines data collection in the field with data from national population registers. A specific focus area is health effects of tattoos, and the research group is at the forefront of its field. The research team is led by associate professor Christel Nielsen and includes a further 6 staff members. The group is international and comprises researchers and research administration staff. We are now looking for a driven post doc in environmental epidemiology to support the project Tattoos and cancer – is there an association? Work duties and areas of responsibility The research assignment consists of conducting independent research, under the leadership of the principal investigator. The work duties comprise management and statistical analysis of register data and drafting scientific articles. You will also communicate results to the concerned authorities and to the public. The postdoc is expected to contribute to the development of the research area, which includes initiating new research and writing grant applications.
Qualifications The requirements for the position are:
Doctoral degree in occupational and environmental medicine or epidemiology
Good knowledge of statistics
Experience of analyzing register data
Ability to conduct independent research at an advanced level
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English
Good analytical ability, drive, and a good cooperation skills
Additional qualifications for the position are:
Experience of research after completion of PhD
Previous experience of research in similar projects

Eligibility Appointment to a postdoctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position, completed no more than three years before the date of employment decision. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.
Further information This is a full-time, fixed-term employment. A postdoctoral fellow is employed under a period of at least two years and at most three years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsadanställningsom postdoktor-2022-02-01” (“Agreement on fixed-term employment as a post-doctoral fellow- 2022-02-01”) Start date: 2023-01-01 or according to agreement.
