A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Amyn Habib, M.D., to study Cancer Biology in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Our laboratory focuses on the following major areas of research. 1. Mechanisms of resistance to targeted treatment in glioblastoma, lung and other cancers. 2. Synthetic lethal interactions in receptor tyrosine kinase signaling. 3. Mechanisms regulating invasion and proliferation in glioblastoma. We are particularly interested in translational studies that can be transitioned rapidly into clinical trials. Recent publications from our lab include Nat Neurosci. 2017 Jul 26;20(8):1035-1037, J Clin Invest. 2018 Jun 1;128(6):2500-2518, Nat. Cancer (2020). 1, 394-409, Nat. Commun. (2021) 12 (1), 7014, Nat. Cell Biol. (2022) 24 (8) 1291-1305.
We are looking for an individual with a Ph.D. or M.D., Ph.D. degree who is highly motivated and hardworking with experience in molecular and cell biology and bioinformatics and strong evidence of research accomplishment. Experience working with a mouse model of cancer is strongly preferred. Our laboratory offers the opportunity to conduct high quality research in a supportive environment.
