Postdoctoral Scholar- Pan Lab Pennsylvania State University
The Laboratory of Materials in Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University, led by Prof. Dipanjan Pan, Dorothy Foehr Huck & J. Lloyd Huck Chair Professor in Nanomedicine, has immediate openings for 2-3 Postdoctoral Scholars to work on federally funded projects. These positions are primarily concerned with designing and synthesizing nanoparticles and DNA-based nanostructures for use in multiplexed imaging and sensing of biological processes. Possible projects include, but are not limited to, are the development of point-of-care biosensors for traumatic brain injury, infectious diseases, wearable sensor devices, and multiscale imaging studies.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. The ideal candidates will have published multiple first-authored peer-reviewed papers in nanomaterials, as well as have extensive experience in synthesis and characterization of novel materials, electrochemistry, biosensing, and other analytical measures and in vitro and in vivo studies. Candidates must be self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment. Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate scientific curiosity, passion for research, and a deep understanding of the current research literature. Writing external proposals and experience in multidisciplinary environments are pluses. Preference will be given to candidates who can start immediately.
