This full-time NERC funded post is available immediately on a fixed term basis, until 30th January 2027.
The post
The College wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in the “Renewing biodiversity through a people-in-nature approach (RENEW)” project. The successful applicant will work on enhancing the data science and statistical/ML/Ai modelling aspects of the project.
The post will include working with modellers in the project to enhance and expand models to run on cloud based computing, develop statistical models to enhance existing models and develop image processing tools.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in statistics/data science/ML/AI and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants will be able to communicate effectively with scientists in a variety of fields, code in a high level language and have a good knowledge of modern statistical, machine learning and AI methodologies.
