Postdoc position:Experimental condensed matter physics, Soft Semiconductor Materials and Devices Laboratory
Hiring Salary: $48,000/Annual
Job duration: Initial one year with possibility for extension to second year based on performance and mutual agreement.
Duties: Lead the research in comprehensive investigation of the spin-related properties in two-dimensional hybrid organic inorganic perovskites multiple quantum wells (2D-MQW). The research team will optically, electrically, and magnetically probe and manipulate spins in 2DMQW. One focus is to measure spin photocurrent using photogalvanic spectroscopy.
Other technical approaches include materials synthesis, chemical and structural characterizations using XRD, SEM, TEM, optical and transport measurements, device fabrication utilizing photolithography and e-beam lithography, as well as measurement of spin photocurrent in various device structures such as FET, photogalvanic and photovoltaic devices, and magnetic measurements using DC, AC magnetometry.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering and Material Science or a closely related field earned within 5 years from an accredited institution with appropriate experience and training, demonstrated excellence in research and communication skills. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with metal halide perovskites synthesis and characterizations; significant experience with magnetic field and electrical transport measurements; Must be skillful with thin film device fabrication and characterization and optical measurements.
Special Skills/Training: The postdoctoral researcher is expected to be a team player and mentor students in the group. The ideal candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills and is expected to co-author journal papers, make conference presentations, and assist the project supervisors in preparing technical reports.
