The Department of Women’s and Children’s Health is one of seven academic departments that make up the Otago Medical School, Dunedin Campus. It was formed in 1999 by combining the previous Department of Paediatrics and Child Health with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The role – Te mahi
We have a position available for a full-time, Postdoctoral Fellow to work under the guidance of Professor Stephen Robertson in the Laboratory for Genomic Medicine providing high quality research in Developmental Neurogenetics.
This project will involve the analysis of genomic sequencing data and the use of a cellular model system to study specific genetic neurodevelopmental disorders to better understand their mechanism and search for therapeutic strategies.
Skills and experience – Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
The position will suit candidates with a PhD (or a postgraduate degree) in a field related to either one or both of the above scientific areas and who has strong computational and experimental skillsets.
It is essential that applicants have a research interest and recent experience in experimental molecular biology.
Candidates must be highly motivated, capable of independent work as well as performing well in a team.
Strengths with sequence analysis, cellular and molecular biology would be essential.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE, 37.5 hours), fixed-term (three years from start date) position, located in Dunedin.
The salary for this role is $86,210.
