Postdoctoral Associate
Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Nuclear Physics or a closely related field in hand by the start of the appointment. Research experience applying BeAGLE and Sartre models to EIC physics feasibility studies and EIC first and second detector simulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Sartre model improvement.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Physics and Astronomy. Please visit Center for Frontiers in Nuclear Physics to learn more about our department/research. The incumbent will conduct research in transporting BeAGLE to C++, adding functionalities to study far forward physics and concurrently improve the physics reach for Sartre, and performing preliminary analyses with applications to the EIC detector simulations and ensure that all tasks are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
● Development work on BeAGLE event generator
● Sartre model improvement
● Applying BeAGLE and Sartre models to EIC physics feasibility studies and EIC first and second detector simulation.
● Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
