美国马里兰大学博士后职位招聘–生命科学(生物学、遗传学、植物生物学等)
A postdoctoral position is available in the newly established research group run by Dr. Charles Seller in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics (CBMG) at the University of Maryland, College Park. Our research combines cell-type specific genomic and proteomic based techniques with plant genetics and physiology to understand stress and environmental signaling in plants.
Our group primarily uses the Arabidopsis thaliana stomatal guard cell as a model cell system to explore the regulation of the plant genome by a changing environment. However, our studies will extend to additional plant cell types and species. The long-term goal of this research is to translate fundamental discoveries in the field of plant genome regulation into improvements in plant resilience to environmental change and stress.
By joining a newly established lab, the candidate will assume a uniquely large role in the operation of a research group. As a new principal investigator, I am committed to your research and professional success and the applicant can expect to receive direct and “hands-on” mentorship. Additionally, I will work with you to develop an individualized training and mentorship plan based on your research and career goals.
Interested candidates should submit a single PDF to (click the Apply button for email link) containing a 1–2-page cover letter describing your research and professional interests and a current CV. Please include the contact information for three professional references in the CV. Review of applications will begin as received and continue until the position is filled. Salary will be based on experience and follow NIH postdoctoral researcher pay scale. We anticipate a start date as early as November 2024.
Key responsibilities include
· Pursue research projects aligned with the larger research goals of the principal investigator (Dr. Charles Seller)
· Communicate research findings both internally at lab meetings and department seminars and externally at National and international conferences and through peer-reviewed publications.
· Assist in the training and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
· Participate in grant preparation.
· Maintain a respectful and collaborative lab environment.
Qualifications
· Ph.D. in the life sciences (Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology, etc.)
· Track record of contributions to science including publication in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at scientific conferences.
· Previous experience in plant biology.
· Previous experience using molecular biology techniques
