美国爱荷华大学博士后职位招聘–生理学、药理学或生物化学医学
The Obal lab utilizes human inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) from patients (healthy and those suffering from opioid dependency) as a platform to investigate the function of opioid receptors, the molecular movements and heterodimerization of G protein-coupled receptors, and the impact of chronic opioid administration on cardiovascular development. Not much is known yet about the chronic effect of opioids on human tissue (i.e., the cardiovascular system and endothelium), since previous work has been mostly focused on opioids acute effects in rodents.
Through our close collaboration with the Joseph Wu laboratory (Stanford Cardiovascular Institute, Stanford University), our lab has access to one of the largest iPSC biobanks in the United States, which give us access to multiple cell lineages carrying mutation in multiple genes key for cardiovascular function and development. Successful candidates will work independently in a dynamic research team within the University of Iowa research community.
