美国贝勒医学院博士后职位招聘–癌症生物学、细胞和分子生物学以及癌症小鼠模型
Job Description
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study the molecular mechanisms regulating tumor initiation and progression in neuroblastoma, a pediatric cancer arising from sympatho-adrenal neural crest cells. The lab aims at understanding how MYCN drives undifferentiated, chemo-refractory, and metabolically distinct tumors, and developing novel approaches to intervention for high-risk MYCN-amplified neuroblastoma (Nat Commun. PMID: 35764645; Nat Commun. PMID: 34183658; Adv Sci (Weinh) PMID: 34365742; Cancer Discovery News 2017).
The successful applicant will be highly motivated and well organized to independently conduct and analyze studies using a combination of cellular and molecular biology approaches (including CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, metabolomics and metabolic tracing, flow cytometry etc..), as well as different tumors models and primary patient samples. The environment is highly collaborative and includes immunologists, circadian biologists, nutritionists, radiologists, and computational scientists.
Job Duties
- Designs, organizes, and executes research experiments using existing lab protocols and procedures, using both in vitro systems and animal models, including mouse orthotopic implantation, animal imaging and drug administration, genetic manipulation of murine lines, circadian studies, metastatic modeling, tumor metabolic and immune characterizations, sc analyses, and metabolic flux studies.
- Organizes and performs data analysis using appropriate statistical methods.
- Documents in detail experimental procedures, maintains lab inventories, and organizes mouse studies and colonies following animal guidelines.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and presents data on a regular basis.
- Presents at national/international meetings, workshops, and seminars.
- Prepares manuscripts for publication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in cancer biology, cellular and molecular biology, and mouse models of cancer.
- Candidates with background in cancer cell metabolism and cancer immunology are highly encouraged to apply.
- Laboratory experience in handling and breeding mice.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Excellent written/verbal English and interpersonal skills.
